Weir Oil & Gas to provide pressure control services to Oman Oil Company
Weir Oil & Gas has won a four-year contract to provide wellhead equipment and services to Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production (OOCEP).
The contract, which is reported to be worth at least $7 million (€6.2 million) and will be carried out by Weir Oil & Gas Oman, reflects a strong commitment to Oman’s in-country value strategy and includes training for Petroleum Development Oman technicians to provide in-country repairs to mechanical rotating equipment in interior workshops located in Marmul, Saih Rawl and Fahud.
“Weir continues to develop a strong presence in the Middle East as an oil and gas industry solutions and services provider,” said Ronan Le Gloahec, Eastern Hemisphere president at Weir Oil & Gas. “We are thrilled OOCEP awarded this contract to us and look forward to providing them with pressure control engineering and local supply expertise over the next four years and beyond. With this contract we are expanding our presence in Oman, where we have been operating since 2013.”
OOCEP is the upstream investment branch of Oman Oil Company.
