New pump system introduced into Vermont
An electric utility in Vermont, US is to introduce special pumps to aid its customers during both summer and winter months.
Green Mountain Power’s (GMP) plan is designed to help consumers reduce costs across a 12 month period.
It is believed the cold-climate heat pumps GMP will use are ductless heating systems that also provide air conditioning during hot weather. In cold weather, the system extracts heat from outdoor air down to temperatures of about -13˚C, and the warmth is brought inside.
It will pay to install pumps in around 200 residential and small business concerns and then rent them on a monthly basis.
