BBA Pumps supplies flood relief pumps to Djibouti
BBA Pumps has supplied flood relief pumps to Djibouti after a tender was put out by the United Nations.
The African country has suffered from heavy rainfall and floods in recent years.
BBA Pumps, partnering with the South African-based African Generator Company, successfully responded to the tender issued in February.
The tender required the supply of mobile emergency pumps including pipes and accessories.
In addition, the project also placed a high emphasis on the delivery of a comprehensive testing and training programme for residents.
The containers carrying the BA150E pumps finally arrived in the port of Djibouti at the end of August.
After the basic pump technology course was delivered all the further topics related to mobile emergency pumps were discussed with trainees.
This included issues such as logistical handling, installation and maintenance work and storage advice.
