AdvantaPure receives NSF-51 certification for high-purity silicone hose
AdvantaPure, a US-based moulded component manufacturer, has received the National Sanitation Foundation listing (NSF-51) certification for its APSW high purity silicone suction hose.
Applications for the hose include ultrapure water transfer, food processing, beverage conveyance, washdown stations, skid systems, and other suction and discharge uses in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, food, dairy, beverage, and cosmetics industries.
The APSW hose begins with a liner of low volatile grade, platinum-cured silicone, which is slipped onto a mandrel and wrapped with four plies of polyester mesh fabric, 316 stainless steel reinforcing wire, and additional silicone.
It is then cured into a smooth and uniform hose, giving APSW the strength, flexibility, and durability to perform well in demanding applications and harsh environments.
APSW’s new NSF listing gives users the assurance of a high quality product that is made to carry a variety of food and beverage ingredients, as the hose imparts no taste or odour to fluids flowing within it and is crush and kink resistant.
The hose is available in two styles, a smooth O.D. or – for an improved range of flexibility – convoluted, which both handle pressure and vacuum usage.
In addition to its listing by NSF, APSW has undergone extensive physical, chemical, and biological testing and meets USP Class VI, FDA CFR 177.2600, ISO 1099, and European Pharmacopoeia 3.1.9 standards.
APSW handles temperatures from -73°C to 176°C, is certified free of animal-derived materials, and can be sterilised by autoclave, CIP, SIP and gamma irradiation processes.
AdvantaPure stocks the hose in sizes ranging from 1/2" through 2” I.D., and larger sizes are in development.
