Xylem UK and Ireland appoints new MD

Xylem has appointed a new managing director for the UK and Ireland, who will oversee both the sales and services division of the business.

Jason Howlett steps into the role having worked in the water industry for 18 years, having been involved in ‘operating and maintaining some of the largest assets in the UK water industry’. This included spending 16 years with major water utility Severn Trent Water.

According to a statement from Xylem, Howlett has also managed a wide portfolio of businesses in capital goods, covering sectors including construction and mining, border security and energy storage.

“Joining Xylem feels like coming home – it’s an industry I have been passionate about since graduating in Water and Environmental Management at university all those years ago”, said Howlett in a statement announcing his appointment.

“Not only that, Xylem is far more than a business – it is a brand that inspirationally uses its market position to have significant social impact, and therefore an organisation I am proud to now be part of.”

Xylem is a global company specialising in technology solutions for the water, wastewater and energy sectors.

Earlier this year, the company announced a multi-year partnership with reigning Premier League Champions Manchester City that saw Xylem become the team's water technology partner. The agreement will see the two organisations work on Xylem Watermark projects across the world, such as building water towers in communities around the world without access to clean water, as well as striving raise awareness of 'global water challenges and issues'.
