WEKA strengthens presence in India with local partner Toshniwal Hyvac
Swiss engineering company WEKA has further expanded its partnership with Toshniwal Hyvac in India, with the addition of local licensed production of its magnetic level indicators.
In January 2020, local licensed production was audited, with a certificate for full WEKA licensed production in India issued. According to the company, the goal of penetrating the Indian market together with Toshniwal has now been achieved.
Following the signing of a license agreement in April 2019, a delegation of five people visited WEKA’s headquarters in Switzerland for manufacturing training. At the same time, training for the sales and marketing team was also undertaken.
The delegation then used this knowledge and expertise to set up their own local production of WEKA visual level indicators in Chennai, India. Machines were purchased and production of WEKA products soon began.
The decision to set up a local licensed production was based on earlier joint sales successes, which resulted from a previous sales partnership between the two companies. As a manufacturer of instruments for level measurement, cryogenic components and special valves, WEKA has been active in India for many years.
Following a decision to increase its activities in the Indian market, WEKA undertook a two-year search and evaluation phase to find an appropriate local partner. A sales partnership was then formed with family-owned company Toshniwal in Chennai in southern India, which concluded at the beginning of 2018.
