Weir Oil & Gas secures major contract in Iraq

Weir Oil & Gas Dubai has signed a multi-year contract in Iraq worth a total of more than $4 million, according to a statement. Signed with a ‘major international oil company’, the contract apparently secures the provision of Weir Oil & Gas workshop services, machine shop services and emergency manufacturing and engineering support for well operations.

According to a Weir statement, a number of factors were behind the company being awarded the lucrative contract, including its capabilities in Iraq, in-house engineering and a comprehensive international facility near the customer’s sites.

“We are pleased to support our clients through providing services, repairs and important upgrades while assisting them with engineer-driven change management protocols and production facility turnarounds,” said Ronan Le Gloahec, Managing Director of EMEA Region, Weir Oil & Gas.

“With this additional contract, we will support this organization’s well operations for several years thanks to our state-of-the-art facility and in-country engineering expertise.”
