Pump manufacturer Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) has announced full-year 2018 sales of over £265 million (€308 million), driven by key industry growth and expansion overseas.
In the company’s 2018 annual report, WMFTG noted that approximately 40% of sales were within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology segment, with sales of BioPure, Aflex, FlowSmart and Watson-Marlow Tubing brands significantly contributing to this growth.
The company continued to expand its presence overseas in 2018, with companies established in both the Philippines and the UAE, both of which will begin trading this year.
Expansions in the US, Korea and South Africa also helped to drive sales and profits, according to the company.
“We are very pleased to report strong organic sales and profit growth in 2018. Watson-Marlow’s fluid management expertise transforms our customers’ production processes in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, industrial, automotive, mining, food and beverage, original equipment manufacturing and medical device/clinical diagnostic industries,” said Jay Whalen, president of WMFTG.
“Our strategic investments in our direct sales force, geographical expansion, market-leading new product innovation and manufacturing efficiencies, to name but a few, will enable us to build on this success in 2019 and beyond.”
WMFTG will celebrate its 50th anniversary at the company’s headquarters in Falmouth, Cornwall later this year.
