Valve World Americas Expo 2019 builds on success

The fifth Valve World Americas Expo & Conference, organised by KCI Publishing and Messe Düsseldorf North America, took place from 19-20 June 2019 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, US.

A total of 4,361 attended the event, including over 700 conference delegates, setting a new record.

The two-day event was attended by flow control professionals from around the world, including North America, Europe, India, China, the Middle East and Latin America.

International delegates comprised a mix of valve subject matter experts, procurement managers, piping engineers and materials specialists, including representatives from Phillips 66, Fluor, The Dow Chemical Company, Jacobs Engineering, Shell and others.

In total, nearly 300 manufacturers and service providers exhibited at the event. The Speakers’ Corner stages hosted presenters who discussed a variety of topics and performed live demonstrations.

There was also the opportunity to learn more about new student research technologies from San Jacinto College and the University of Houston.

The conference, which ran concurrently with the exhibition, began each day with keynote lectures given by representatives from MRC Global, Emerson, Phillips 66, Tesoro’s Par Hawaii Refining, Dow Chemical and professional motivational speakers Mary Kelly and Meridith Elliott Powell.

Chairman of the 2019 event was Tim Goedeker, senior principal environmental consultant of HSE, refining at Phillips 66.

A day before the conference began, six courses were held on the topics of valve essentials, fugitive emissions, API 6D pipeline valves and Fluid Sealing Association courses.

The next Valve World Americas Expo & Conference will take place on 23-24 June 2021 in the same location.
