Valve manufacturer CORTEC approved as API 6D manufacturer

US-based API valves manufacturer CORTEC has been audited and approved as an API 6D licensed manufacturer, the company has announced.

The API specification defines requirements for the design, manufacturing, assembly, testing and documentation of ball, check, gate and plug valves for pipeline and piping systems for petroleum and natural gas industries.

The licence will allow CORTEC to offers its upstream, critical service and valve manufacturing experience in new applications in the downstream market.

The company’s API 6D valve range features models up to 14-inch full post and pressure classes up to 2500CL service.

“Our extensive track record with critical service designs featuring technology such as metal to metal sealing and highly corrosive resistant materials is ideally suited for many specialized applications within the API 6D marketplace,” said Stephen Corte, vice-president of marketing and business development at CORTEC. “We have already received multiple orders for this new valve line and are eager to further expand the range of applications in which we can serve our customer base.”
