Swiss pumping solutions provider Sulzer has expanded its footprint in Southeast Asia, with the opening of a new service centre in Semenyih, Malaysia.

The company is now able to offer rotating equipment services 24/7 in Malaysia, and is uniquely placed to offer specialist technical knowledge and support for all types of pumps, electrical equipment and turbomachinery.

The opening of the Semenyih service centre marks another milestone for Sulzer’s operations in Asia-Pacific, with around 20 service centres now in operation throughout the region.

Major industries including oil and gas, power generation and water will benefit from the opening of the new service centre in Semenyih, which is located in Malaysia’ Selangor state. Specialising in centrifugal pumps, compressors, steam turbines and electric motors, the 850 square metre purpose-built facility has been designed to deliver efficient services that improve reliability and performance.

“We have a reputation for delivering round-the-clock maintenance support where it is needed and using cutting-edge technology to minimise downtime for our customers,” commented Simon Roberts, head of pump services in Southeast Asia for Sulzer. “Now, all of this is available throughout Malaysia. The new service centre offers specialist services as well as conventional engineering services including dynamic balancing, condition monitoring and root cause analysis.”

The comprehensive range of services offered by Sulzer is suited to supporting power generation, the expanding petrochemical industry, as well as onshore and offshore oil and gas installations. Moreover, the new centre will retain experienced field service engineers to support with on-site installation and commissioning, as well as fault-finding and condition monitoring.
