Pure US to lead service programme for Baltimore water pipelines
Infrastructure inspection and management firm Pure Technologies has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Pure Technologies US, has been selected by the City of Baltimore to lead a multi-year programme to provide services related to the management of large-diameter water transmission pipelines.
The programme contract is expected to be for a period of five years for an amount up to $20 million (€15.9 million) with the option to extend for an additional five years. Work is anticipated to begin in 2015.
During the programme, Pure US will provide condition assessment, remaining service life analysis and long-term monitoring services for large-diameter water transmission pipelines located in Baltimore City and Baltimore County, US. The company was selected based on its expertise, experience and proprietary technologies, some of which have become the industry standard in assessing the health of water and wastewater pipelines around the world. Pure US has been working with this customer since 2005.
The inspection and monitoring services are expected to utilise a range of Pure's patented leak detection and condition assessment technologies, among others, including its PipeDiver, SmartBall and SoundPrint Acoustic Fibre-Optic monitoring technologies.
