Protego to showcase pilot operated valve for cryogenic gases at Achema 2018

Protego will be showcasing its new Type VN-A-PC pilot-controlled diaphragm valve at the upcoming Achema event in Frankfurt, Germany, 11 – 15 June.

According to the Germany headquartered company, the valve is designed for liquefied gases under cryogenic conditions up to -200°C. The valve has been newly developed for pressure and vacuum relief.

Primarily used as a safety device for outbreathing in tanks, vessels and process engineering equipment, the Type VN-A-PC pilot controlled diaphragm valve also offers reliable protection from overpressure and/or vacuum. It prevents intake of air and unacceptable product vapour loss up to and until the set pressure is reached.

Key specs of the Type VN-A-PC:

  • DN 12"/16"
  • Set pressure range: +20 to +1034 mbar
  • Conformity as per API 2000 7th Ed. and ISO 28300
  • Cryogenic Functional Test (as per ISO 21013-4)
  • Blow down < 7%

Established in 1954, Protego supplies a wide range of products such as flame arresters, valves and tank equipment. The company has customers in the petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical and bioenergy sectors.

Protego will be exhibiting in Hall 8, booth 844 at Achema 2018.
