Patterson Pump test lab wins Hydraulic Institute approval

US-based Patterson Pump Company, a member of the Hydraulic Institute (HI), has received approval for its pump test laboratory through the HI Pump Test Lab Approval Program.

The approval programme helps pump OEMs and other pump test laboratories to improve procedures and policies by working with a third-party auditor to develop accurate protocols for pump testing, according to the HI.

It also assists with adherence to accreditation standard ISO 17025, which is related to test measurement equipment.

The HI has developed the pump test lab approval programme to support the US Department of Energy’s energy saving initiatives, by encouraging increased efficiencies for both commercial and industrial pumps.

“This accreditation illustrates Patterson’s commitment to comply with industry standards for determining pump efficiency and energy consumption through accurate and reliable testing practices,” said Alex Moser, engineering manager at Patterson Pump. “This along with innovative design techniques will help our customers prepare today for tomorrow’s world.”

“Receipt of the Hydraulic Institute’s Pump Test Lab Approval certification is a major milestone for Patterson Pump Company,” added assistant general manager Kerby Pope. “This approval exhibits our commitment to continuous improvement and fulfilling the customer’s pursuit of superior pump efficiency and energy savings.”

The laboratory is located at 2129 Ayersville Road in Toccoa, Georgia, US.
