OW Bunker completes first physical supply in Singapore
Global bunker business OW Bunker has completed its first supply to a customer in Singapore using a Coriolis flow meter.
The delivery of 3,200 metric tonnes (mt) of fuel was carried out using a 5,600 dwt, double-hulled barge with a pumping capacity of 1,000cbm/h.
‘While we naturally follow the MPA's SS 600 to the letter, we want to take more control of the supply chain for the benefit of our customers,’ says Paul Bradshaw, General Manager, OW Bunker Asia. ‘This means providing the most efficient service possible, in conjunction with innovations such as Coriolis meters, so the right quantity of product is delivered.’
OW Bunker is in the process of introducing a physical supply operation in the region and Bradshaw added that, following this successful first supply, it plans to develop further with a second vessel coming on line in July, followed by a formal launch later in 2013.
