Ohio Transmission Corp. acquires pump distributor Argo’s New Jersey branch

Ohio, US-based Ohio Transmission Corp. has acquired the assets of the New Jersey branch location of Argo International Corp, an industrial distributor focused on pumps, repairs, and electrical products.

The Somerset, New Jersey branch will operate as a branch location of OTP Industrial Solutions, which provides solutions for industrial pumps, electrical, motion control, fluid power, spray finishing, and power transmission systems.

“Argo New Jersey is a strong Flowserve pump and repair distributor that expands our presence in the densely populated Northeast US and is a perfect fit with our industrial pump, electrical, and service and repair businesses,” said Phil Derrow, president and CEO of Ohio Transmission.

With the acquisition, Ohio Transmission now has 28 locations throughout the South and the Midwest and Northeast regions, along with 12 service shops.

The addition of Argo’s eight associates brings Ohio Transmission’s total employment to more than 780 employees.

“The addition of Argo in New Jersey reinforces OTP’s commitment to our pump, electrical, and service and repair business and strengthens our presence in the Northeast in conjunction with our Ohlheiser fluid power and automation-focused branch in Newington, Connecticut,” said Rob Webb, president of OTP Industrial Solutions.

“Our customers value the expertise of our associates and the professionalism we bring to every relationship. The associates of Argo New Jersey are a perfect fit to help OTP deliver what matters most to our customers.”

The acquisition provides significant growth opportunities for Argo’s associates and will provide its customers with a more comprehensive set of technical solutions.

“Joining with OTP is exactly the right choice for our team and I couldn’t think of a better partnership,” said Anne Russell, general manager of Argo N.J.
