New valve stem packing material from Garlock available worldwide

Sealing specialist Garlock has announced the availability of Style 5882 valve stem packing material through the company's global network of distributors.

Recently released only in North America, Style 5882 is now available worldwide. It provides low-friction performance for air-operated valves built to handle water, air and steam.

Style 5882 products are manufactured using a high-quality braided carbon fibre core sheathed in a durable PTFE layer, which delivers essential low-friction performance without sacrificing enhanced service life and durability.

Three Garlock Style 5882 valve stem packing line options are available:

Garlock Style 5882 Spool – Spool-based material offers low-friction performance for applications up to 260°C.

Garlock Style 5882 Die-Formed – A die-formed material featuring bevel cut rings for precise and easy installation during planned outages.

Garlock Style 5882 LSP Set – Engineered with die-formed graphite middle rings and lower PTFE content for higher heat dissipation. This material is a combination of GRAPH-LOCK and Garlock Style 5882 rings.

Garlock Style 5882 valve stem packing materials are available with carbon bushings, and can be custom designed for unique dimensional requirements.
