Krohne launches new range of level measurement products

Industrial process instrumentation specialist Krohne has launched what it dubs ‘a new generation’ of liquid and solids level measurement products.

According to the company, the new level measurement range offers improved performance, enhanced software, and an improved and more powerful signal processor. Both 24GHZ and 80GHZ versions are included in the new range, and each model comes with antennas customised to meet application-specific installations.

For existing Krohne level measurement customers, a retrofit path is available for older Krohne products, allowing electronics to be upgraded without the need to break the hermetic seal on the tank.

Liquid level measurement devices in the new range include: Optiwave 5400 (24GHz) for liquids in basic process applications; Optiwave 7400 (24GHz) for agitated and corrosive liquids; Optiwave 7500 (80GHZ) for liquids in narrow tanks with internal obstructions; and Optiwave 3500 (80GHz) for liquids with hygienic requirements. These replace the Optiwave 7300.

For solids level measurement there is the Optiwave 6400 (24GHz) for solids ranging from granulates to rocks and Optiwave 6500 (80GHz) for powders and dusty atmosphere. These devices will replace the Optiwave 6300 in Krohne’s level measurement product line.

Krohne’s current Optiwave 6300 and 7300 level measurement devices will be phased out at the end of 2017. Spare parts will still be available in 2018 and later, however.
