Hydrasun invests thousands to support subsea operations

Hydrasun, a specialist provider of integrated fluid transfer, power and control solutions to the global energy market, has invested more than £600,000 (€727, 430) in new specialist equipment and inventory for the completion of high-pressure, long length specialist hose assemblies for subsea intervention operations.

The investment equips Hydrasun with the technology and capabilities to provide a turnkey service offering in relation to product developments, the latest of which is the 3" Black Eagle Hose by Parker.

Complementing its existing 1 1/2" and 2" product lines, and available with working pressures of 5K, 10k and 15K psi this product can be supplied in lengths of up to 800m with its enhanced mechanical, temperature and flow characteristics offering operational reliability and performance advantages as well as time and cost savings for customers undertaking subsea intervention operations.

As Parker's premier supplier within the UK, Hydrasun has direct access to the Black Eagle family of products. Off the shelf availability of these products allows for the supply of completed bespoke assemblies in a short lead time, typically within one week.

Further extending its in-house operational capabilities, Hydrasun has invested significantly in assembly and testing equipment, including a new Crimping Machine, which can crimp hoses up to 10" in diameter with a crimp force of 1200 tonnes as well as enhanced reeling equipment, facilitating the safe handling and movement of assemblies of up to 10 tonnes.

In a related product development, Hydrasun has recently expanded its range of complementary fitting products with the design and development of a new Cardanic coupling, enabling multiple sections of hose to be joined together.
