Fives supplies centrifugal pumps to air separation plant in Texas
Fives Cryomec has successfully installed centrifugal pumps, CRYOMEC® single-stage and multi-stage centrifugal labyrinth pumps to an air separation unit (ASU) plant near Houston in the US state of Texas.
A number of years ago, a local subsidiary of Fives’ Cryogenics | Energy business line was opened in Houston to strengthen the company’s position in the North American market.
This presence in Houston has already led to successful cooperation between Fives and key industry players. After a service centre was opened in 2017 in Cleveland, Ohio, service activities in the US have shown considerable improvements.
The latest successful installation of centrifugal pumps demonstrates Fives’ ability to support plant activity, while improving equipment reliability and efficiency.
Fives’ CRYOMEC Labs pump is commonly used in ASU plants or in industries that use large quantities of liquified gases. It is a process pump designed for continuous duty and process applications.
The barrel-type pump is designed to fit onto any cold box and optimise the equipment’s maintenance downtime. It can be easily extracted, avoiding the burdensome and time-consuming dismantling of the cold box.
