The ExxonMobil-led Liza Unity FPSO project in the prolific Stabroek block offshore Guyana has reached peak production at 252,000 bpd, Reuters reported.
The announcement was made at the 2024 Offshore Technology Conference, held in Houston, Texas.
Exxon anticipates first oil production from their newest vessel, One Guyana, next year.
The consortium, including ExxonMobil, Hess and China’s CNOOC, is completing new wells in the deepwater Stabroek block at a record pace, with Guyana poised to become the second-largest oil producer in Latin America.
Exxon plans to drill two high-risk wells this year, Redmouth and Trumpetfish, and has hired Modec to build an FPSO vessel for their fifth project, Uaru. Additionally, a sixth project, Whiptail, has been sanctioned and is expected to begin production by the end of 2027, bringing total output capacity to 1.3 MMbpd.
