Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water nears completion of wastewater network upgrade

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water is currently investing £8 million (€9.2 million) to upgrade the wastewater network between Hailey Park and Tongwynlais.
This investment work will help increase the sewer network capacity and help protect the local environment for years to come.
The work, which got underway last summer, involves replacing, cleaning and relining sections of the wastewater pipe between Hailey Park and Tongwynlais. Great progress has been made as the company has already replaced and relined more than 700 meters of sewer pipes and cleaned a further 550 meters. It is anticipated that work will be completed by the end of September.
Welsh Water’s project manager, Andrew Davies, said: “At Welsh Water, we are committed to ensuring we provide an effective water system which gives customers a first-class service. Our work that is being carried out between Hailey Park and Tongwynlais reflects our commitment to reinvest profits for the benefit of customers.
“We always strive to let our customers know what we are doing when we are working in their community, so we have written to residents to tell them about the work and kept them informed through regular updates on our website.
“We understand that our work can be inconvenient at times, so we really do appreciate the patience and understanding shown to us by local businesses and residents and would like to thank them for bearing with us.’’
