Collaboration promotes innovation in water resource security

Two leading organisations in the water industry are collaborating on webinars to demonstrate global innovation taking place in the field of water resources management.
In a first for the sector, British Water is partnering the International Water Association (IWA) through its UK governing member, the IWA UK committee, on the live presentations, which will reveal technological developments to protect water resources to an international audience.
Topics and case studies will include UK and international policy and strategy initiatives, the importance of regional groups and stakeholder engagement, integrated water management programmes, water efficiency measures and regional resilience planning.
Participants will also hear from international water resource management experts about their experiences of COVID-19 and will have the opportunity to network with industry peers.
The International Water Association is the largest membership association in the global water sector with members in over 140 countries.
It contributes to the development of knowledge and proactively promotes the uptake of innovation by bridging the gap between science and practice and policy and implementation.
IWA UK committee chair Benjamin Tam said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with British Water for these exciting new events. The two organisations are very much aligned in supporting innovation in water and wastewater and giving it a global platform.”
British Water chief executive Lila Thompson added: “We are facing a global water crisis - never before has collaboration and innovation been so critical in securing resources for future generations.”
The events take place on July 9-10 and for more details and to book visit britishwater.co.uk/events/water-resources-securing-long-term-resilience-524.aspx
