Alfa Laval to supply $180 million pumps

Alfa Laval has announced that it has won two orders to supply Framo pumping systems to an oil facility in the Middle East and to an FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) vessel that is to be built in China.

The established heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling company, has orders worth a total value of around $180 million that were placed at the end of December 2018. The deliveries are scheduled for 2019.

President of the marine division, Peter Leifland said “I am pleased to announce these two large orders for our Framo pumping systems. These pumping systems are used in a variety of duties, all with heavy demands on safety and reliability, where they provide an optimised performance.”

The orders are for pumping systems that will handle crude oil in a cavern as well as crude oil offloading, slop and ballast pump duties.
