AFT updates waterhammer and surge analysis software

Applied Flow Technology (AFT) has announced the release of a new version of its waterhammer and surge analysis software, AFT Impulse.

Trey Walters, president of AFT, announced the launch at the Pressure Surge Conference in Bordeaux, France.

“Our new version 7 of AFT Impulse clearly demonstrates AFT’s commitment to the global waterhammer engineering community and improving safety in design and operation of piping systems,” said Walters.

“We listened to engineers and looked at industry trends. We have made many user interface enhancements to better support both new and experienced users, as well as added several new file import and export formats to make it easier than ever to get existing data into and out of AFT Impulse.”

AFT Impulse is a dynamic simulation and analysis tool used to calculate pressure surge transients in liquid piping systems caused by waterhammer. According to an AFT statement, there are almost 50 new or enhanced features in AFT Impulse 7, with a full list of those features available here.

Year of updates

2018 has seen Colorado Springs based AFT launch new versions of all of its major products, including AFT Fathom 10, AFT Arrow 7 and now AFT Impulse 7.

According to the company, these new products have all incorporated advanced features with a primary focus of import/export partnerships between export files.
