Terra Drone monitors pipeline for Medco Energi in Indonesia

Terra Drone subsidiary Terra Drone Indonesia has recently carried out a demonstration to showcase the advantages of using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to monitor pipelines.

The demonstration, which was for Indonesian oil and gas group Medco Energi, was completed in November in Purwakarta, West Java, using the Terra Bramor C4EYE UAS manufactured by Terra Drone group company C-Astral.

Slovenia-based C-Astral has designed and developed fixed-wing Terra Bramor C4EYE specifically for high-endurance surveillance, monitoring, security patrol, surveying and remote sensing activities.

During the demonstration, Terra Drone Indonesia focused on how the UAV can directly monitors activities through real-time video and photos to identify objects with clear results. In addition, the drone can easily identify anomalous objects that move in the area being monitored.

The drone is already being used by a number of security companies to monitor theft activity on pipelines.

“Terra Bramor C4EYE can fly for up to 3.5 hours, is powered by an electric battery, and is equipped with a multi-sensor camera consisting of a high-resolution visual camera sensor with up to 40x zoom capability, and a thermal camera to detect objects temperatures or during night operations,” commented Michael Wishnu Wardana, managing director of Terra Drone Indonesia. “The drone is apt to be used for surveillance and security purposes.”
