STATS partners with Saudi Arabia’s Safari to promote pipeline technologies

Aberdeen, UK-based STATS Group has signed an exclusive partnership with Safari Oil and Gas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), under which its patented range of pipeline isolation and intervention technologies will be promoted.

The agreement follows the completion of a successful isolation workscope, which was carried out on behalf of Saudi Aramaco and which used STATS’ hot tap installed double block and bleed BISEP tools.

To support the partnership and drive expansion in Saudi Arabia, business development manager Hafiz Abdul Kareem has relocated to the country from the United Arab Emirates, where he will serve the market exclusively.

STATS will supply equipment, services and personnel from its base in Abu Dhabi, with a longer-term strategy of opening a permanent base in Saudi Arabia.

“Forming this strategic partnership with SOG underlines our commitment to growing our business in KSA,” commented Angus Bowie, regional director for the Middle East and Asia Pacific at STATS. “Safari is very well respected, has many years of experience, an excellent track record in pipeline maintenance and repair, and represents an ideal synergy with STATS and the technologies and services we offer the market.

“STATS Group has successfully delivered pilot isolation workscopes for both hot tap installed and launcher installed product ranges on behalf of Saudi Aramco and are working closely with major EPC contractors to offer safe solutions on a number of projects. We believe KSA could be a key market in the region which will make a significant contribution to the growth of our global business.”

Safari Oil and Gas supplies products and services to the oil and gas, water and petrochemical industries in Saudi Arabia. Established in 2007, the company is a member of the Safari Group, which employs over 13,000 staff and its one of KSA’s top 50 listed companies.

“Partnering with STATS is a major step towards growing the company strategically and to bring into the KSA an international entity with superior technology that adds value to the Kingdom, the industry, creates jobs and is in line with the Kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030,” added Mohammed Al-Ghosain, CEO of Safari Oil and Gas.

“Throughout my extensive experience stretching well over three decades in the oil and gas industry, I have never seen such an advanced, safe and cost-effective way to perform pipeline intervention and isolation. This partnership will be hugely beneficial to both companies through further collaboration between both companies.”
