New waterjet cutting machine installed by LTi Metaltech

High-end precision fabrication specialist LTi Metaltech has announced new machinery that is expected to provide further expansion and boost business.

LTi Metaltech is adding a new-state-of-the-art Ridder waterjet cutting machine and installing it at the company’s Abingdon factory. The new waterjet machine provides extra capacity to serve newer growth areas of LTi’s business, in addition to its ongoing cryogenic work for long-time client, Siemens, for its MRI machines.

The waterjet machine has twin head cutting capability, can cut an area of 8m x 4m and has a high-pressure water pump with an increased capacity of 75KW that boosts cutting speeds.

LTi Metaltech state that the new machine will allow it to significantly ramp up its production.

Technical Director Edgar Rayner said, “The next 12 months will be crucial for us, but it’s another year we are really looking forward to following the great success we had during 2018 in the energy, science and nuclear markets. The rigorous requirements of these sectors already play to our strengths in areas such as audit compliance and quality assurance. And with this latest investment on board, we will be in an even better position to seize on new market opportunities and grow.”
