New valves set for Saline wastewater treatment plant

A wastewater treatment plant in Saline, Michigan is being upgraded with a $1.4 million (€1.08 million) investment.

Under the proposals, which Saline City Council approved on 20 May, Franklin Holwerda Company will replace the plant's two existing sludge transfer pumps, valves, its gas handling system, the hot water heating boiler and its existing digester under a $1.3 million contract.

In addition, the council approved $135,000 construction and engineering proposal from Tetra Tech.

Plans for the facility upgrade began in January last year and are scheduled for completion before a public hearing on the 3 June council meeting.
