Krohne bolsters its Optiwave range with 24GHz and 80GHz models

Following the launch of their Optiwave series of level measurement meters in June, Krohne have now added three 24GHz and three 80GHz radar level transmitters to the range, on top of the 6GHz and 10GHz devices.

Designed for liquids and solids level measurement in a range of industries, Krohne dubbed the Optiwave series ‘a new generation’ at its launch in June.

Industrial process instrumentation specialist Krohne states that the full range of Optiwave 2-wire loop powered FMCW radar level transmitters are ideally suited to applications “from chemical and petrochemical to mining, minerals and metals processing.”

The 6GHz, 10GHz and new 24GHz and 80GHz radars have been released by Krohne to offer the appropriate frequency for specific applications. As with the existing Optiwave devices, the new OPTIWAVE 5400 / 6400 / 7400 (24 GHz) and OPTIWAVE 3500 / 6500 / 7500 (80 GHz) radars are designed to deliver reliable level measurement, even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Process connection options for the new devices start from ¾” for the new radar level transmitters, and also include lens, drop and horn antennas to suit different process and installation conditions. In terms of measuring range, the Optiwave transmitters can measure products with dielectric constants as low as 1.4, and feature a quick setup assistant for easy commissioning as well as an empty tank spectrum function for eliminating false reflections.
