John Crane wins Iraqi oil field supply contract

Technology provider John Crane is supplying seals, couplings and bearings to Italian pump manufacturer Termomeccanica Pompe (TMP) for 24 centrifugal pumps that will be used in the development of Iraq's Zubair oil field.

The agreement covers mechanical seals and systems, high-performance couplings and hydrodynamic bearings. A service option has been discussed for a later stage.

A consortium led by Eni SpA manages the Zubair project, which has a development target of 850,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) through to 2035.
