Irish Water installs Hidrostal pumps in €22.2 million wastewater treatment plant upgrade

Wastewater pumps manufacturer Hidrostal has helped Irish Water with its €22.2 million upgrade at the Swords Wastewater Treatment plant in County Dublin, Ireland.

The upgraded plant has increased capacity to 90,000 population equivalent, in addition to ensuring protection to the nearby Broadmeadow Estuary from wastewater pollution.

Hidrostal has installed two new submersible screw centrifugal non-clog pumps to replace ageing ones installed more than 10 years ago. They will be installed in both the inlet and storm chambers, and in addition to their non-clog pumping capabilities, are highly efficient.

The company has additionally supplied a hire pump to Irish water for use as the Swords Wastewater Treatment plant, which fitted neatly into the existing installation.

Irish Water is committed to investing in wastewater treatment infrastructure at the Swords facility to support the fast-growing local population.
