Integrated system for gaining remote visibility of mobile bulk fluids

For companies hauling bulk fluids, it's difficult to ensure drivers are following safety and compliance protocol in the field. It's also tough to know whether tank capacities are being fully utilised.

An integration is now available between the Pedigree Technologies OneView mobile resource management platform and the Titan Logix Corp. TD80 liquid-level gauging system. When used alongside the TD80 liquid-level gauging system, the OneView platform can be used to remotely monitor levels of crude, produced water, acid, jet fuel and other liquid chemicals being hauled in tanker trailers.

This mobile fluid monitoring solution was initially requested by a large company operating in the oil and gas sector. The company wanted better visibility of its fluids being hauled in Dura-Haul trailers.

The Titan Logix gauging system is designed to create a safer and more efficient working environment. The system improves driver safety by eliminating the need for a driver to climb on top of their trailer to take measurements. Instead, a tank's fluid level displays at eye-level using an advanced digital display. The gauging system also has an audible spill and overfill alarm.

The gauging system's features include the following:

• No float or moving parts
• High accuracy level measurement
• Safe and reliable environmental spill prevention
• Straightforward installation
• Highest quality, rugged, modular industrial design
• Wide range corrosive resistance
• Self-cleaning probe

Additionally, readings from the TD80 liquid-level gauging system can now be accessed remotely in OneView. The combination of these two systems allows a dispatcher to see where their vehicles are located, and how much product volume is left onboard or how much ullage is remaining.

The OneView mobile fluid monitoring solution enables customers to see where vehicles are and how much fluid is in each tank, allowing dispatchers to increase productivity by ensuring tanks are full.

In the office, dispatchers access the easy-to-use OneView platform to view utilisation reports, and they receive automatic email and text message alerts based on location and fluid level events. The solution also features an unauthorised unload alarm, which helps prevent safety issues if fluid levels are dropping when/where they shouldn't be.

Pedigree Technologies director of product management, Joshua DeCock says, 'The main benefit of this system is that companies can track where and how much fluid is picked up and dropped off. This gives traceability and helps ensure people are not dumping illegally or handling fluids improperly.' It also helps tie inventory flowing in and out with transactions.

The OneView platform allows a company to manage all of its assets using one system. The mobile fluid monitoring system can also be set up to include the following solutions:

• Asset tracking
• Dispatching
• Electronic logs
• Electronic work orders
• Equipment management
• Fleet tracking
• Maintenance
• Tank-level monitoring
