Hantech rolls out motorised control valve for industrial refrigeration market

US-based Hansen Technologies Corp. (Hantech) has launched a new motorised control valve (MCV) targeting the industrial refrigeration market.

The new valve, compatible with all refrigerant types, can be used to control operating temperature and pressure of ammonia refrigeration systems.

The MCV is a direct motor actuated valve designed for operation in DX, liquid makeup, temperature, pressure, and level control applications for a wide variety of refrigerants.

The valve has already been proven with over 80,000 hours in the field coupled with over 10 years of accelerated life testing, Hantech says.

According to Hantech, the valve “has eliminated refrigerant leakage because the non-electric rotor and stem are enclosed in a stainless steel can which contains the fluid pressure”.

The motorised valve can also be integrated into a computer system to allow for proper regulation, which could be particularly useful for maintaining the safety of ammonia systems.

The MCV is available in ¾"to 2" sizes with a safe working pressure range between 400psig for flanged valves and 800 psig (SWP) for weld-in-line valves.

It is capable of withstanding a wide temperature range from -40°C to 50°C ambient air and -60°C to 115°C refrigerant temperature.

The valve incorporates a low voltage power input at 24V AC or DC and various input control signal choices, including 0-20mA, 4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, 1-6V, and dry contact.
