Flowrox’s Corona water treatment technology nominated for innovation award
Flowrox’s yet-to-be-launched Corona industrial water treatment technology has been nominated for the Aquatech Innovation Award 2019, in the Wastewater Treatment category.
Also known as the ‘Oscars of the Water Technology Industry’, the winner of the Innovation Award will be announced on 4 November during Aquatech Amsterdam’s opening ceremony.
Corona is a unique industrial water treatment technology that uses non-thermal plasma in direct contact with water. The design ensures a large plasma-water contact area and offers efficient removal of pollutants from water. Using carefully focused plasma energy, strong oxidants are produced from the air and the treated water itself.
The solution provides effective treatment without oxidative chemicals, such as chlorine or hydrogen peroxide, bring lab-scale findings into commercial scale. The technology, which has no moving parts, is designed for low operational costs and minimal maintenance.
The technology has been tested in many applications, including disinfection, COD reduction, colour and odour removal, and destruction of various target pollutants and their transformation products. It is a safe and environmentally friendly Advanced Oxidation Process.
