EKKI Pumps and HOMA invest in new JV factory in India
Indian pump manufacturer EKKI Pumps and Germany-based HOMA Pumpenfabrik are investing in a new factory in Coimbatore, India under their joint venture (JV).
The factory will manufacture parts for HOMA’s production lines, as well as producing wastewater pumps for India and neighbouring markets.
It will be EKKI’s fourth factory in Coimbatore, with production anticipated to begin within six months.
During a recent visit to the EKKI HOMA JV in Coimbatore, Karin Stoll, the German Consul General in Chennai, said: “EKKI HOMA is a true successful Indo-German partnership of how two family-owned mittelstand companies can work together. It’s a matter of transferring decades of experience and expertise in the waste water pump manufacturing. It requires a lot of experience, high tech culture, investments and a long-term business plan.”
Kanishka Arumugam, CEO of the JV, added: “With major investment in manufacturing capacity in Germany and India, both EKKI and HOMA are very well placed to grow our business in the future.”
