BPMA and and Lancaster University sign cooperation agreement

The British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) has signed a mutual cooperation agreement with Lancaster University.

According to a statement, the agreement covers a range of ‘collaborative ideas and opportunities.’ In particular, it aims to develop improved skills and technology understanding across the pump sector.

At the heart of the new agreement will be a drive to explore additional content to strengthen the BPMA’s existing range of training courses as well as evaluating the scope for funded collaboration across a range of technologies relevant to pump systems engineering.

“By aligning the respective strengths of engineering academia and commercial enterprise, jointly delivered ‘added value’ services can be determined for the mutual benefit of members, students and stakeholders alike,” said Professor George Addis from Lancaster University.

“I am thrilled that we have this agreement in place and excited by the potential activities that the collaboration could deliver.”

Steve Schofield, BPMA Director and CEO added, “Having previously worked with Professor Aggidis whilst he was active in industry, I am delighted to have the opportunity to extend our working relationship and to have our respective organisations seek collaborative initiatives”.
