Pentair and SunTech partner on solar pumping solution

Global water treatment company Pentair has teamed up with SunTech Drive to deliver innovative solar pumping solutions.

The initial project under the collaboration integrates SunTech’s solar control platform with Pentair’s Pentek variable speed drive technology, creating a solution that is useful for off-grid applications, where access to water is a daily necessity.

“At Pentair, we strive to deliver smart, sustainable water solutions to our customers,” said Bob Miller, senior vice-president, Pentair Flow Technologies. “The collaboration with SunTech Drive provides an innovative new motor drive architecture that, coupled with Pentair’s world class pumps, will now offer a cost-effective and easy-to-deploy solar pumping solution for our customers.”

The solar pumping solution is compatible with AC motors, while the variable speed technology enables pumps to operate during low levels of sunshine.
