Flowrox launches valve for processing corrosive substances

Flowrox, a manufacturer of heavy-duty industrial valves, is launching a new pinch valve product designed to enhance current pipeline equipment and processes in the oil and gas, mining, minerals, and metallurgy and waste water industries.

The PVG valve, developed for use where abrasive or corrosive slurries, powders or coarse substances are processed, is engineered at full bore with no flow restrictions, allowing processes with abrasive or corrosive fluids—such as lime slurry or mineral slurries.

A key benefit, says Flowrox, of the full bore design is that the valve itself becomes an 'integral part of the pipe and is able to process the same fluids in the harshest of conditions.' At the core of the valve is its elastic sleeve, which is the only part in contact with the medium as a way to reduce any potential corrosion or deterioration due to wear-and-tear, even when processing the most corrosive chemicals.

'Energy efficiency and reduced ownership costs are the main purpose of the PVG valve, which is actively marketing the PVG valve to all major municipalities and power plants in North America managing fluid control processes that require 'precision and performance directly related to revenue generation,' says Flowrox.
