AS-Schneider introduces new valve for oil and gas industries

Attendees at the Adipec 2013 event in Abu Dhabi earlier this month saw the introduction of a new metal seated ball valve from AS-Schneider.

Made of stainless steel for use in corrosive environments, the patent-pending KM series valve is designed for high-pressure operations with oil and gas industry pipes.

The valve can operate in temperatures ranging from -29ºC to 450ºC, as opposed to conventional valves that can only be operated up to around 250ºC to 300ºC. It has been built to withstand pressure of up to 420 bar, according to Markus Haffner, design and development manager at the company.

A double sealing system with a 2" bore, which consists of graphite sealing rings, ensures zero leakage, Haffner adds.

In parallel with the TA-Luft approval, the KM Series has also undergone type testing for fire safety in compliance with DIN EN ISO 10497 and API 607. This has been tested and certified by TÜV Süd.
