TPS 2017 moves to December in wake of Hurricane Harvey

The Turbomachinery and Pump Symposia (TPS) in Houston, Texas has been rescheduled in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

A regular and popular event on the pump industry calendar, TPS 2017 had been set to take place over 11 – 14 September at the George R. Brown Convention Centre in the Avenida entertainment district, Houston. Disruption, damage and displacement caused by the hurricane has seen the organisers push it back to 12-14 December. The venue is unchanged.

Hurricane Harvey, a tropical cyclone, has caused catastrophic levels of flooding on Texas’ Gulf of Mexico coast, with Houston severely affected. Harvey is the strongest hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico since 2005, and the most powerful to make land in Texas since 1961.

The new dates for TPS 2017 will see the technical sessions and exhibition take place over 12-14 December, and the short courses connected to the exhibition taking place the day before, on 11 December.

According to the TPS website, registrations for the event will automatically be moved to the new December dates.

Further information about the new schedule, and information for delegates and exhibitors, is available on TPS’ website
