Edwards launches new turbomolecular pump with improved performance and reduced footprint

UK-based vacuum products manufacturer Edwards has launched a new turbomolecular pump, the nEXT85, which delivers improved performance in a smaller package, while maintaining high levels of reliability.

The new nEXT85 rotor has been optimised to achieve both higher speeds and higher compression while maintaining reliability and reducing size.

The nEXT85 is suited to a range of R&D and high energy physics applications, and ideal for analytical instrument uses.

The pump delivers the operational and service benefits of the existing larger nEXT range such as end user serviceability and enhanced communication options.

The in-built infrared temperature sensor directly measuring the rotor temperature is unique to nEXT85, delivering an increased performance envelope and improved thermal control.

The nEXT85 also improves on the communications of nEXT pumps with an on-board USB port, allowing simple communication with Edwards’ free nST software, even when the pump is in use.

The pump is also available in standard or higher compression variants, allowing selection of the perfect variant for the application.
