Sundyne launches new low-head, high-flow pump

Sundyne, a Colorado, US-based pumps and compressors manufacturer, has launched a new low net positive suction head required (NPSHr), high-flow pump model, the LMV-803Lr.

The Sundyne LMV-803Lr is an API 610 compliant pump available in either OH3 or OH5 motor mounting configuration that provides ultra-low NPSHr performance – approximately 5ft (1.5m), across the entire performance range – for flows up to 800GPM (180m3/h) and heads up to 1,000ft (305m).

The low NPSHr allows the pump to be installed at grade level, eliminating the expense of installation in a pit and performing maintenance in a confined space.

The vertical design is well-suited for use in refineries, natural gas liquids, petrochemical, and chemical plants, as well as handling light hydrocarbon handling services, such as bottom pumps for de-ethanisers.

Based on Sundyne’s direct drive technology, the LMV-803Lr delivers a compact footprint, low vibration, and increased efficiency, the company says.

Featuring Sundyne inducer technology and a newly redesigned backswept impeller, the new model is capable of meeting lower NPSHr requirements than either or VS style pumps without risk of cavitation.

The LMV-803Lr also features a new 6”x4” casing engineered to operate in high-pressure applications with maximum case working pressures equivalent to 1,000psig (70kg/cm2).
