Watson-Marlow strengthens gasket range with new materials
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG) has expanded its BioPure gasket range with new materials to cover a wider range of applications.
The new range will help customers meet a higher level of demand for consistent quality in bioprocessing components.
The company’s PTFE and Viton® gaskets use polytetrafluoroethylene and a synthetic rubber and fluoropolymer elastomer, which offer high resistance to chemicals and steam.
The BioPure gaskets ‘support leak resistant connectivity within pharmaceutical and biotechnology production processes, reducing validation risks in contamination-free applications’, according to a company press release.
In addition to offering LOT traceability on every component, the BioPure range complies with FDA regulations CFR 21 177.2600 and is compliant with USP Class VI, as well as being animal derived component free.
This extension to the BioPure range of gaskets further strengthens WMFTG’s portfolio, enabling complete end-to-end fluid management for all high purity biopharmaceutical fluid applications,” said Mark Lovallo, product manager.
“The new range of materials on offer will provide our customers with greater choice to design fluid paths which satisfy their production needs at a more competitive price, whilst still providing the confidence in quality and regulatory compliance that comes with WMFTG’s engineering expertise.”
