Veolia Water Technologies introduces ToroJet™ produced water filtration solution for oil & gas

The new solution modernises conventional nutshell filtration by incorporating a centralised, grade-level media cleaning skid, removing the requirement for backwash equipment mounted on individual filter vessels.
This streamlined configuration reduces structural complexity while delivering meaningful savings in both capital expenditure and ongoing operating costs.
ToroJet is capable of achieving up to 98% suspended solids removal and lowering hydrocarbon levels in produced water to below 2 mg/l.
These performance levels enable treated water to be safely reinjected, reused within process systems, or discharged in line with environmental compliance requirements.
The system’s modular architecture allows operators to scale capacity as production demands evolve, minimising disruption and avoiding extensive plant modifications.
Designed with operational practicality in mind, ToroJet enhances safety and maintainability by allowing all routine inspection and media cleaning activities to be carried out at ground level. The system incorporates a robust fluidisation pump compliant with API or ASME-ANSI standards, ensuring reliable and repeatable cleaning performance.
Overall, ToroJet supports the industry’s growing focus on sustainability, water stewardship and reduced lifecycle costs, helping operators manage produced water more efficiently under increasingly stringent economic and environmental pressures
