Ecomondo 2026 will take place at Rimini Expo Centre, Italy, from 3 to 6 November.
Organised by Italian Exhibition Group, the event dedicated to the green, blue and circular economy is now in its 29th edition and will place water management, water security and circularity centre stage.
Ecomondo 2026’s exhibition layout has confirmed and strengthened the presence of the Water Cycle & Blue Economy exhibition sector in the eastern wing of the exhibition centre. It brings together the technologies and expertise needed to manage the entire water cycle.
The area connects exhibits with content, creating a space where industry professionals can discuss solutions for more sustainable and resilient water resource management.
Solutions will be showcased for water treatment, purification and desalination plants; the reuse of wastewater and rainwater; the treatment and recovery of value from sewage sludge; and the management of municipal, agricultural and industrial wastewater treatment plants.
These will be complemented by technologies for industrial process water and wastewater, drainage channels, pipes, valves and fittings, sustainable urban drainage systems, pumps, turbines, inverters and controllers.
Digital technologies will play an increasingly important role, including meters, sensors, data management systems, remote monitoring and control, and solutions for monitoring and improving efficiency. These will increasingly enable a shift from reactive to predictive management: collecting data from networks and plants makes it possible to identify anomalies, optimise consumption, schedule maintenance and increase infrastructure resilience. At the same time, water reuse and the recovery of materials and energy from treatment processes help transform what was traditionally considered waste into a new resource.
The Water Cycle & Blue Economy exhibition area will also host the Blue Economy District, showcasing technologies and expertise related to the sustainable development of marine and coastal ecosystems, and the Trenchless District, dedicated to infrastructure for the construction, maintenance and upgrading of underground networks using low-impact techniques that avoid conventional excavation.
Ecomondo 2026’s conference programme will also include several events dedicated to the regeneration of marine ecosystems and the sustainable, efficient and safe use of water resources.
Water will not be addressed as an isolated sector, but as a component of the ecological transition. The synergy between Water Cycle & Blue Economy and Earth Observation & Environmental Monitoring is one example: the two areas are not only adjacent, but technologies for water management will also be featured in the spaces dedicated to Earth observation.
The stage is set for Ecomondo 2026
