SEEPEX expands biogas pump portfolio

The move comes as policymakers and industry alike pursue ambitious targets under the European Union’s REPowerEU initiative, which aims to scale biomethane production to 35 billion cubic metres per year by 2030, reducing fossil gas imports and bolstering energy security.
The enhanced product portfolio includes new BTEX and BN pumps with higher throughput capacities — now up to 160 m³/h at 4–8 bar — designed to meet rising demands from large scale biogas plants and biomethane facilities across Europe.
These new pump sizes offer operators greater flexibility, allowing them to handle higher volume streams, seasonal loading peaks and varied substrate conditions, such as fibrous agricultural residues.
SEEPEX’s technology also focuses on improved premixing performance and robust substrate handling, helping to optimise the feedstock blending process before anaerobic digestion and increasing biogas yields.
The company’s Smart Conveying Technology (SCT) and Easy Maintenance solutions are engineered to reduce downtime and lifecycle costs, responding to plant operators’ needs for reliable, high efficiency equipment in demanding applications.
Industry stakeholders have identified stable, high capacity equipment as critical to unlocking biomethane’s full potential in Europe’s energy mix.
With its expanded pump offerings, SEEPEX positions itself as a key technology partner for renewable gas producers scaling up operations — contributing to decarbonisation goals while enhancing performance and cost efficiency at biogas facilities.
