New Sulzer Lausitz service centre delivers cross-border engineering support

Sulzer has announced the opening of its purpose-built Lausitz Service Centre, which offers technically advanced repair and upgrade capabilities for all types of rotating equipment.
With a focus on the needs of the power generation, petrochemical, paper and water sectors, the new facility will help operators improve equipment reliability and productivity.
This consolidation of the company’s Jaenschwalde and Schwarze Pumpe Service Centres offers enhanced coverage from a centralized location for businesses in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Uwe Kirstein, head of services, North/East region at Sulzer, said: “This new facility is in the industrial park of Schwarze Pumpe, close to the city of Spremberg, is a statement to our customers - Sulzer is investing in the region to further expand the comprehensive service it offers for the critical equipment used in throughout industry.
“The site is a central point for customers to access Sulzer’s world-class rotating equipment services.”
As a global pump original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and independent service provider (ISP) for any type or brand of rotating equipment, Sulzer operates a worldwide network of service centres.
With its ‘one-stop-shop’ philosophy, the Lausitz Service Center offers repairs and upgrades for complete trains of pumps, gearboxes, compressors, turbines, blowers and more. It also hosts one of Sulzer’s mechanical seal repair shops.
