New 1.9 km pipeline to be installed in East Anglia

Engineers have begun work to install a 1.9 km of water mains pipe in East Anglia, UK, to support local growth in the area.
The work by Anglian Water is expected to be completed by the end of July and will supply water to residents of new developments planned in Stowlangtoft, Suffolk.
Dan Finbow, project manager for Anglian Water, said: “Our region is one of the fastest growing in the UK, and by 2025 we expect to serve 3.3 million households, with over 380,000 new homes needing to be connected to our network.
“Investing in projects just like this enable us to enhance capacity and ensure customers can continue to use their taps and flush their toilets without a second thought.”
The majority of the pipe will be installed within neighbouring fields to reduce disruption to residents.
Anglian Water has assured teams will be following Public Health England advice on social distancing while at work and will be limiting direct contact with customers unless it’s an emergency.
