NETZSCH launches tungsten carbide fusion coating for pump durability

Designed for highly abrasive and corrosive applications, N.Durance™ significantly extends rotor and stator service life while ensuring consistent performance under extreme operating conditions.
Available in Advanced, Pro and Ultimate versions, N.Durance™ employs a dense, low-porosity fusion coating that delivers exceptional hardness, toughness and cavitation resistance.
With a hardness of approximately 1,300 Vickers, it provides superior protection against friction and wear, outperforming traditional coatings such as hard chrome plating, HVOF and plasma spray systems.
The Ultimate version features up to seven coating layers, providing maximum resistance to wear, impact and thermal stress, while the Advanced and Pro versions are optimised for moderately to highly abrasive environments.
Beyond performance, N.Durance™ replaces environmentally harmful hard chrome plating processes, eliminating the use of toxic chemicals and hazardous waste.
Its metallurgical bond prevents flaking and corrosion, ensuring long-term reliability. Manufactured in-house at NETZSCH’s facility in Exton, Pennsylvania, rotors can be machined, coated and shipped within one to two days, fully compliant with Build America, Buy America (BABA) standards.
Ideal for municipal water, wastewater, chemical and energy industries, N.Durance™ reduces downtime, lowers maintenance costs and improves system predictability. Combined with NETZSCH’s NORIUS™ monitoring solution, operators gain real-time insights for predictive maintenance, maximising pump efficiency and extending the overall service life of critical components.
