NETZSCH launches tungsten carbide fusion coating for pump durability

news item image
NETZSCH Pumps USA, a leading provider of complex fluid handling solutions, has unveiled its N.Durance™ Tungsten Carbide Fusion Coating Technology, setting a new benchmark in durability and reliability for NEMO® Progressing Cavity Pumps.
Designed for highly abrasive and corrosive applications, N.Durance™ significantly extends rotor and stator lifespans while ensuring consistent performance under extreme conditions.
Available in Advanced, Pro, and Ultimate versions, N.Durance™ employs a dense, low-porosity fusion coating that delivers exceptional hardness, toughness, and cavitation resistance.
With a hardness of approximately 1,300 Vickers, it offers superior protection against friction and wear, surpassing traditional coatings such as hard chrome plating, HVOF, and plasma spray systems.
The Ultimate model features up to seven coating layers, providing maximum resistance to wear, impact, and thermal stress, while the Advanced and Pro versions are optimised for moderately to highly abrasive environments.
Beyond performance, N.Durance™ replaces environmentally harmful hard chrome plating processes, avoiding toxic chemicals and hazardous waste.
Its metallurgical bond prevents flaking and corrosion, ensuring long-term reliability. Manufactured in-house at NETZSCH’s Exton, PA facility, rotors can be machined, coated, and shipped within one to two days, fully compliant with Build America, Buy America (BABA) standards.
Ideal for municipal water, wastewater, chemical, and energy industries, N.Durance™ reduces downtime, lowers maintenance costs, and enhances system predictability. Combined with NETZSCH’s NORIUS™ monitoring solution, operators gain real-time insights for predictive maintenance, maximising pump efficiency and extending the total lifecycle of critical components.
